The need to create a positive and supportive family culture during childhood is great – for both children and their parents. Children feel more secure when they know their parents will set, define and enforce standards for appropriate behavior. In addition, they feel safe in structured environments that have clearly defined expectations for all family members. When daily schedules are manageable for parents and children… when family communication patterns are a clear, understandable and filled with positive messages…. When children are respected and given the chance to learn to make good decisions for themselves… and when parental discipline strategies are constructive, effective and inherently supportive- children thrive and families flourish. Join us for a meeting filled with helpful hints, worthwhile tips and a few good laughs.
